If there is something in my life and my circumstance that I am allowing to make me unhappy, then I can change it. It may not be easy to change. It can take a long time to make the change. But I can do it. It is within my power to make the change in me or in my life.
I know the way can seem long and hard and even hopeless at times. I’ve sure been there even with as good as my life is overall. I allow myself to let outside things affect my attitude. But I can change those things that are within my control and I can stop letting what is outside me affect my attitude.
There is something about myself that I want to change. When I do the things and take the steps that supposedly will make the change and I see incremental improvement, that’s good. But when I do as I supposedly should and nothing is happening or I even seem to be going backward, it’s hard to stick with it. That’s when an attitude adjustment is really needed.
Frankly, I do give up for a time. But there always comes a point where I work on making the change again because I am not happy with the situation and I feel it is truly within my power to make the change. I just have to try another tack, focus on the end goal, and take the daily steps.
The first step can be realizing that things outside me do not make me unhappy. I decide to be unhappy and allow those things to be my supposed cause. The second step is deciding daily I want to make this change. From there, I need to make a plan for daily steps toward my goal and focus on taking those steps every day. Lastly, I must persevere.
It is within my power to change this thing about me and my life. I am in control of my happiness and it is up to me to maintain my attitude and change what I wish to change.
