Maybe I should make this inspirational quote my mantra for this year.  I’ve done a good deal of losing this last year.  Perhaps more precisely, I didn’t meet my goals.  Even with all the tools I use, I didn’t meet my goals.  It seems like I could not get back into the flow state I had finally achieved in the summer when the yearly “eventus interruptus” happened.

I read on a blog, Zen Habits I think, about being prepared for some type of major interruption in your life every six months.  Mine are usually once a year but last for four to six weeks.

There’s two ways I can look at this.  One, I can work my life around so these yearly events don’t stop the flow.  How I do that I don’t know yet.  Two, I can live by this inspirational quote with every fiber of my being.

OK.  Something happened which ruined my flow but I have to get back up and get back into it.  I have to give my goals one more try, daily.  And that is what I am going to work on.

I am going to maintain the same two major goals from last year.  I am going to create baby step goals that I will work to achieve weekly, biweekly, and monthly.  In addition to the two major goals, I will work on some secondary goals.  These will be things like home projects, long weekends with my husband away, reading a book a week, and going to one seminar this year.  Luckily for me, a seminar came up this month and I will be attending it in about two weeks.  I’m even adding a trip to seem my parents before the seminar.

This year is starting out great already.  Now, to repeat my mantra each day, keep developing my rituals and systems, and keep my eye on the prize no matter what “eventus interruptus” happens this year (like my daughter and her family moving back to the area and living with us while they find a place of their own).
