What are your true north principles? What kind of person am I? What is most important to you? What kind of person am I working to become?

What opinion someone else has of me is none of my business. It has so much to do with what is inside his own head, maybe even much more than anything to do with me. So why let it matter.

What kind of person I really am is what matters. I’m talking about the qualities of character that reside within regardless of the circumstances without.

I can be down to my last dime and still believe that I should not steal. I could be as wealthy as Buffet and sill believe it’s OK to falsify records in order to make more money. Those character traits would still be a part of me even if circumstances were reversed in either case. Those traits would indicate who I really am.

So who am I really and what kind of person am I seeking to become are questions to ask ourselves. Depending upon the answer we get, we may decide we want to change or improve.

As a life-long learner, one of my best character traits and what centers me, I will always be seeking to improve who I am. This journaling on inspirational quotes is just one way to improve. You might want to give it a shot too.
