Time ripens all things. No man is born wise.
Miguel de Cervantes
This is another version of what Jim Rohn calls the Law of the Farm. You can’t have crops before you plant the seed, water it, weed it and harvest it. And there is actually more to it than that.
It takes time for things to come into being including each of us becoming the person we want to be. Maybe even a lifetime if our goal is continual growth and achievement.
So what am I doing to become what I want to be one year from now or five years from now?
Part of that goes back to what is my purpose in life? What is my passion? Where are my strengths? What actions am I taking to achieve my purpose and live my passion? How do I want to improve? You need the answers to these to know how to make a plan for one year from now or five years from now.
Whatever it is, if you don’t take action to become whatever it is you want to become, then one year from now you will only be one year older. It doesn’t matter how young or how old you are right now. If another year passes without action taken and progress made, you will still be where and who you are now but a year older.
You will certainly be no wiser. Which leads me to more questions. At what point do you consider someone wise? What does it take to be considered wise? I would dearly love to hear your comments on these last two questions.
