When you know that you’re capable of dealing with whatever comes, you have the only security the world has to offer.
Harry Browne
Many times in life, maybe even every day, we face a cross roads where we must make a decision. We can go forward into the unknown risking what we don’t know. Or we can turn back to safety. I should say supposed safety. As this quote points out, there truly is no security in this world. It is a world of adventures, not security and safety.
Our only “security” lies in knowing that no matter what happens, we’ll get through it one way or another. The only other choice is death and, yes, that is a possible outcome of the adventures of daily living.
Even if you stay in a safe job going home to a dull life every night, you could be killed while commuting or from a fall in the shower. I know of someone who died from a ladder hitting him on the head. How do you predict that?
So if there is risk and hazard from living in so-called safety, why not take the risk that can move you forward, that might make you something else? Take the risk to live the life you want. Is the risk of failure really so bad?
So you fail at the different thing you tried. So what? You sure aren’t going to have anything different by not risking the change. And as already written, staying back in so-called safety is not really so secure after all.
Just remember that this, too, shall pass. That will help you deal with whatever comes because eventually it passes and something else takes its place. If you’re smart enough to be reading this and trying to improve yourself, you’re smart enough to deal with whatever happens.
