To me, this inspirational quote seems like a do-loop. Or maybe it’s a spiral that can feed itself upwards. To be excited, we have to have desire. To create that desire, we have to be excited about it.

When you have a dream that gets you excited, then that unlocks the energy to work towards that dream. The dream is your desire. It’s what you want.

I guess it’s the level of desire for your dream that leads to how much effort you put into it. A wish that things were better is a vague want with no real excitement behind it. It doesn’t motivate you to get out there and do what you need to do to achieve it.

But a specific dream of winning the award for the best darn chocolate chip cookie ever could. It will make you spend the time required to work on your recipe and spend the hours in the kitchen trying different things out.

It doesn’t matter the size of the dream. What matters is how important it is to you. Does it set you on fire? Do you dream about it at night? Is every free moment spent plotting how to achieve it and working on the steps toward the dream? A dream that does this and more is what will make your life interesting.

Find out what it is and latch onto it for all you are worth, for it may save your life. At the very least, it will keep you from being one of the masses who sleepwalk though life.
