I don’t know if hard work is needed but I do know getting to the top requires action and purposeful action at that. That is part of the recipe.
Work alone does not achieve success. But you can’t get to the top without action. Work, even hard work, can be unfocused toward a goal. I know many people who work hard every day but, other than paying the bills, they get nowhere. If you count going from day to day in a daze, they may be successes. But even discounting money as a scorecard, they are not successes by any other measure.
I guess all I am really saying is what I’ve already said. Work, or action, is one part of the recipe for success but it is not all. And hard work may not be needed at all. It is actually perseverance in working toward a goal that is more important in my opinion based on what I have learned and experienced.
