Start Off with a BIG January

December 18th, 2009 · 4 Comments

Most people never get their year going until mid-March.  All the heavy hitters that I know start off with a BIG January and build on it.

Bob Proctor

Sounds like starting with a BIG January is the way to go.  If I have plans to meet certain goals next year, then hitting the ground running makes sense.

Maybe it takes so long for most of us to get going because we spend January recovering from the holidays of the prior two months.  Then, in February, it’s just too darn cold, the day is too short, and the energy just isn’t there.  The days finally start to get a little longer in March and there may even be that first flush of spring if we’re lucky.

Makes sense about most people not getting the year going till March when you think about it.  But I don’t want to be “most people” any more.

Most people go through their days just trying to get through their days.  I want more.  I was making a list of about 12 places I would like to visit to see what’s there.  I want to break some speed bumps in my way in business.  I want to spend time learning and improving myself.

I may never be a heavy hitter.  Don’t think I want to be.  But I do want to be a medium hitter.  Best way to do that is to follow the heavy hitters and what they do.  Starting off with a big January sounds like a real good way to begin.  Finishing the year well sounds like a real good way to begin.

If it’s to be, it’s up to me.  Look like it’s time to plan and get things set up for that BIG start.  That will be my focus for the rest of this year.

I want to start off by saying “Good luck” on your goal for 2010!

In the past, I too have been guilty of not getting serious about my resolutions until March. Over the years; however, I’ve learned to concentrate on the goal and not so much the month in which I set the goal. So, basically, I start my 12 months where ever I am. Wonder if this could qualify me as a medium hitter as well ;-)

    Great post!

Thank you for the good wishes. I think you have an excellent idea of starting right where and when you are. No need to wait till January 1 to set new goals. Good luck on your goals whenever you begin them.

Great design of your blog, sorry off topic but I love your design, very balanced and easy on the eyes.

Thank you. As you can see I used the cutline 2 column theme with my own images in the header. If those are too small for you, there are easily changed by a tad of hacking.
