Loving people live in a loving world. Hostile people live in a hostile world…Same world.
Wayne Dyer
This quote is another way of saying, “What you see is what you get.” Meaning wherever your focus is that all you are going to see.
If you are a hostile and angry person, you don’t even notice or discount it when you see acts of kindness which are little acts of love. “They must just be trying to get something or they wouldn’t have done it.”
If you are a loving person, you think love will conquer all. You try to introduce love into every situation. You see the acts of kindness and remark on them. You are the one doing the acts of kindness.
I think I am between those two extremes though I try to lean more toward the loving viewpoint with the self-development I am doing. That’s apparent in all my journal posts.
I’m working more to not make judgments, hostile or loving, about what I see around me. I never really know how things are going to turn out so I want to be open to what happens now and the eventual effect of that happening. “Maybe good. Maybe bad. Who knows?”
I guess that means I desire to see the world with accepting eyes, to live in a world of acceptance. Doesn’t mean I won’t work, and work hard, to get the outcomes I want. But I will accept what happens trying to see the silver lining in everything which hopefully gives me a more positive attitude.
