We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something and that this thing must be attained.
Marie Curie
It is only with perseverance that we continue on to our goal. So many of us lack that perseverance and don’t attain that which we say we want. I know I lack this quality all too often even though I know it is so important.
It’s so common not to persevere that Napoleon Hill even had a story called “Three Feet from Gold“. A couple of authors recently took that theme and turned it into a book.
According to this inspirational quote, perseverance is the first part. You must also have confidence in yourself. This is “above all”. If you have that confidence, Hurrah!, you are already on your way. If you lack that confidence, then it’s necessary to create it.
One way to begin this process is with baby steps of finding one thing you know you do well (that will help you get to your goal) and do that every day. Say you are on a diet but every day you let yourself down by eating things you shouldn’t. This makes your confidence and self-esteem take a real hit.
Try getting just one meal under control. Just work on making breakfast according to the diet you want to pursue. Then work on lunch, your snacks and finally dinner and the evening hours. With each step successfully accomplished and held to, your confidence will increase. This is what I am working on myself. Makes it easier to get the right foods into the house as well one step at a time.
This is just one way to do this. And, of course, the one thing in your life or business that you are really good at is the thing you should pursue and strengthen. We must, according to this quote, find that thing we are so good at and work to make it even better and stronger. We must find that thing we are gifted for and attain it.
