Whatever you want to do, do it now. There are only so many tomorrows.
Michael Landon
Michael Landon was on of my favorite actors. I liked him much more in “Highway to Heaven” and “Little House on the Prairie” than in “Bonanza”. His character in “Bonanza” was such an annoying little brother. He was, unfortunately, one of the people who learned the hard way that there are only so many tomorrows when his number of tomorrows was cut down by pancreatic cancer.
None of us truly knows how many tomorrows we have. I know of a man that had a form of cancer where 95% die within a short time. He was in the 5% and live a few years past diagnosis.
We could live to be 120 or we could die tomorrow. We just can’t procrastinate and put things off. If it’s within our power to do, and needs to be done, we can do it now.
I am so guilty myself of putting things off simply because I let that fear of doing it allow me to procrastinate. This was discussed in another quote just two posts back.
Maybe we can use the fact of not knowing how many tomorrows we have, to get us through that fear, procrastination and laziness. What are your goals for this year? What are you doing today to work toward those goals?
You and I only really have now. It is time NOW to work towards those thing we really want in life and not put them off to a tomorrow we might not have.
