I think I’ll do what the commentary that came along with this inspirational quote from Insight of the Day did and split it into two statements to address.

Those who feel they have already learned all they need to know cannot and will not be able to adapt themselves to a changing world.  I think of all the people who worked in factories making big trucks and SUVs.  A lot of those factories are closing or have closed by now.  What are those people going to do?  Have they continued to learn so they can adapt and get a new job?  Or do they believe all the campaign rhetoric about stopping “American jobs from going overseas”?

Sure, there’s always McDonald’s as a place to work but that is no opportunity for the woman or man with a family to support.  Are we keeping our eyes open and seeing what is going on around us?  Many jobs are being outsourced to countries where it’s cheaper to hire labor and all the campaign rhetoric won’t stop that unless the U.S. turns into a totally communist country.  Those being replaced - are they learning what they need to exist in this changing world?  Or are they burying their heads in the sand?

No, I may not be fully aware of all that is happening but I do strive to keep learning every day.  The only thing we know for sure is that things and this world are changing and will keep changing.  Seems at times that they  are changing at an ever-increasing rate.  Only by continually learning and being adaptable do we have a shot at changing with the world.
