Taking care of my daughter and her daughters recently have taught me how much one needs to enjoy and savor all the moments of the different stages of your life.  I am exhausted and was craving the quiet of our normal adult household.  It would have been so nice to have even two minutes without a scream, whine or tantrum from one of them.  I savored the naps when it happened that everyone was down at the same time.

This last month had made my efforts to work during that time nearly impossible.  Having a coherent thought thread for more than five seconds seemed impossible.  I have no idea how young mothers take care of their children and homes and still have a business on the side.  The kids and home alone are a full time job (and much more than the traditional 40 hour work week).

But holding the babies, changing diapers, feeding babies, and listening to my daughter’s dreams let me touch all those episodes from when my family was younger.  I was once more in touch with that stage of my life.

It also made me realize I don’t have the energy to chase toddlers and walk endless miles with a baby in my arms that I once did.  LOL

I wish there was some way to impress upon all of us the directions in this inspirational quote.  We do need to enjoy and savor each moment for the babies grow, the job changes and so do our expectations and dreams.  Each stage is precious and the time we spend doing our work and with our families is precious as well.  Enjoy and savor the time and the events.
