“On Being a Woman”
Why is it, when I am in Rome
I’d give an eye to be at home,
But when on native earth I be,
My soul is sick for Italy? And why with you, my love, my lord,
Am I spectacularly bored,
Yet do you up and leave me - then
I scream to have you back again?
Dorothy Parker
Dyer has is right on in this essay in my humble opinion. Wherever we are, we are thinking of somewhere else. Whoever we are with, while listening to them speak, we are thinking of something else even if only what we want to say next.
As a mother, I am especially bad at that with my children. Dyer says when we realize we are doing this, we need to stop and appreciate where we are and who we are with.
Since I am all for being grateful any time and any place, this is a great suggestion to me. I appreciate my time spent reading and writing every morning which is what I am doing now. I appreciate the quiet. I am grateful for the time to think and how this journaling is helping me grow toward my potential. And, today as I am sick, I am very grateful that I can work from home.

I guess it’s human nature to be acting like that.
Your post remind me of an inspirational poem about being grateful for what we’ve got.
