Gratitude is not only the greatest of virtues, but the parent of all others.
Cicero
Dictionary.com defines virtue as, among other things, “moral excellence and righteousness; goodness.” Also as, “the quality of doing what is right and avoiding what is wrong.”
When you are grateful, you feel a bit of love and lightness toward who or what you are grateful for. Pick something you are grateful for and think through the things you are feeling as you feel this gratitude.
I am grateful for the Internet which allows me to share my thoughts with the kind people who are interested enough to read my journaling on inspirational quotes. This makes me think kindly toward all the people who worked on building the concept and all the people who daily keep it thriving. It makes me feel even more gratefulness for my readers.
Gratitude can easily become a non-ending circle if you follow through. It creates a positive energy within us that, even if it did absolutely nothing else, gives a lightness to your day.
There is love and joy within the virtue of gratitude. Thinking of ten things, or even five, that you are grateful for every morning is a great way to start your day on a positive footing.
