I think this quote is about what Zig Ziglar calls “possibility thinking”.  Skeptics and cynics live by pooh-poohing any ideas that come along.  All they can see are the negatives and obvious obstacles.  If they could see the positives of life, they wouldn’t be skeptics or cynics.

It’s those who see the possibilities that end up changing things, even if it’s just a little bit in their own lives.  Maybe it’s “things that never were” that they dream of.  Maybe they can just see how something can possibly be different.

I think they can do this because they are the ones who ask the questions.  You know the ones.  Questions that start with, “What if…” or “How would this be different if I…”  It’s those types of questions that lead to new possibilities.  Those possibilities can change our world.  They can solve the problems of the world if we just allow for the possibilities.
