Doing “…each daily task the best we can.”  Why does that prepare us to meet emergencies?

The first thing I can think of is that by doing each daily task the best we can makes sure we know everything that is involved with the task.  We know the steps of the tasks.  We know the system.  We become experts because we are doing our best which means giving it our all.

You can’t do that without learning and becoming an expert in the task.  By knowing the situation so well, when the emergency comes, we are more versed in how to get things back to normal.  By becoming an expert, we know what workarounds can meet the emergency situation.  And we will know how best to get things through the emergency the fastest.

I’m not sure about the prizes going to those who meet emergencies successfully but you are more likely to better survive the emergency and to come out of it in the best shape possible.
