Over and over I read posts in different internet marketing forums made by people who say they don’t know where to start.  There are so many different ways to do things and make money online.  These people are overwhelmed by the choices and the information which quickly changes.  So many also say they don’t know how to build a website or do basic html or FTP or whatever.

So instead they keep reading forums and making posts (talking) about the things they don’t know.  This inspirational quote is the key to this and any other subject one wants to learn about and do.  At some point, and usually much sooner than most people do, you have to “quit talking and begin doing.”  Take some action, even a small step.

When I decided to pursue IM, I bought three websites so I could learn.  That was the major reason for purchasing though making money with them would be a nice secondary goal.

I had to learn about hosting and how to FTP files and scripts so I could put the sites up.  I had to learn some basic html so I could change them around to look the way I wanted and just to understand the files that make up the pages of a site.  I had to learn to write articles for the web.  I had to learn to install software and how to use it.

All these things I learned by finally doing it using a book at my side and experimenting.  It would be the same for anything I would want to learn to do.  I learn by reading, taking classes, and from the mistakes of others.  But then I take action to make it mine and to develop some competence in the subject whatever it may be.

You can’t just keep talking about a subject you say you want to learn.  If you want to learn how to do something enough, you have to stop yakking about it and get started doing the learning and doing the thing.
